On August 30th 9:00 am, 2008 “Luzhou Lao Jiu Fang Cup” Wulong, Chongqing, China International Mountain Quest is Start.

The Quest is front for General Administration of Sports, National Broad Electricity Bureau, and Chongqing people's government, common undertaking with China mountaineering administrative center; Chongqing broadcast television group (main station), Chongqing media Limited Liability Company, and Wulong County people's government. 24 teams that nearly a hundred athletes from 13 countries and areas take part in the competition, the total bonus is 150,000 dollars.

Mr. Wang hongju Major of Chongqing, Ms. Xiao min chief assistant of General Administration of Sports bureau, Mr. Li zongda deputy head of the National Broad Electricity Bureau propagandizes the management office, Mr. Xu yuanmu assistant director of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr. Xie xiaojun deputy mayor of Chongqing, Mr. Wang xiaoxun deputy chairman of Chongqing Political Consultative Conference and another leaders present the opening ceremony. Deputy Major Xie xiaojun said: Wulong Mountain Quest have high cultural connotation, athletics standard is enhancing unceasingly, is become an important international outdoors sports event. After 5 year’s development, Wulong International Mountain Quest become one of the three most famous international outdoor quests. It is reported that in participating teams, beyond 18 border teams, including first 6 troops in this year’s world mountainous event total ranking. The previous champion US Nike also registers the participation.

After the opening ceremony, is warming-up position match. Athletes run from Central Square and pass the First Wu River Bridge and People Square, return the Central Square and change riding bicycle, riding to the south market of the Third Wu River Bridge, then running to the beach and finish canoe drift to the down-stream beach, coming ashore and run back the Central Square. The total distance is 10 kilometers, approximately use 1 hour.
